By maximising discounts, people can fight back against inflation

The average annual grocery bill in the UK is set to rise by £380 this year to £4960, according to research firm Kantar. Yet, many consumers could offset some of this by taking advantage of savings on everyday shopping to which they may have access.

One of the more unusual sources of potential savings for consumers comes from leading motor finance provider MotoNovo Finance. The business' long-established and successful MotoNovo Discount Shopping benefit is available to its more than half a million finance customers and hundreds of intermediaries and staff members.

MotoNovo Discount Shopping provides discounts and offers on everything from grocery and lifestyle shopping to holidays, days out and experiences. It includes discounts at Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Asda, Tesco, Iceland, Waitrose and M&S currently, although this does not extend to petrol forecourts. MotoNovo Discount Shopping is free to consumers who have financed a vehicle with MotoNovo and is available throughout their agreement. By logging onto the MyMotoNovo website portal, which customers use to manage their finance agreement, customers can access the up-to-date retailer-specific discounts, which includes many of the UK's favourite brands. Discounts are available through a range of options, again depending upon the retailer. These can include discounted gift cards, vouchers, SMS, and online codes and time-bound offers.
